Leroy, a dog who was trapped in a cement hole in Fresno, California, raised his head to the heavens in search of a possible rescuer.
Leroy soon met the gaze of a photographer taking photographs in an abandoned lot near the trench.
Animal control agents rushed to the scene, climbed into the opening, and pulled Leroy to safety
The dog remained tranquil and devoted despite his ordeal, ecstatic to have people looking out for him.
Staff members of the animal rescue organization Compassion Without Borders were stunned by Leroy's affable disposition.

Veterinarian Camblor promptly began fostering Leroy and caring for his medical requirements.
